The highest and largest glacier in the alps is part of the reason groups are attracted to Les 2 Alpes, its ski area is around 200km and is well know for having a top notch snow park. The town is based at 1600m so unlike many of our resorts you have to get a 20min cable car every morning before skiing. There is a huge amount of bars all of which know how to get a party going and are extremely familiar with British student groups. If you are in Les 2 Alpes or Alpe d’Huez we will provide a day trip to either resort free of charge including a ski pass. You can either be accommodated in apartments or fully inclusive in the UCPA.

Les 2 Alpes offers a network of 200 kilometres of pisted skiing that varies from the glacier to the many slopes which descend into the village. Included in the ski area is Europe’s highest skiable glacier at 3600m and the huge off piste area of La Grave. Varied nursery slopes can be found immediately above the village and further afield on the slopes high up on the glacier and between the cable car mid stations. Much of the skiing throughout the domain is suitable for intermediates of all standards. There are a variety of easy and more challenging blues and reds which allow easy exploration of the entire ski domain. Les Deux Alpes is one of the best resorts in Europe for freestyle with a large full-time snowboard park, pipes and boardercross course. Advanced and expert skiers and boarders will also relish the off-piste challenges on the descent to La Grave.

One of the reasons Les Deux Alpes is popular is its varied après ski with numerous venues. The pick of the bars would be Smithy’s Tavern which is a two floored large bar offering live bands and friendly staff. Those in search of a full English will find it at the Red Frog together with a good pint of Guinness to help you cure the morning blues! Although small the Yeti Bar has a great atmosphere especially when combined with a large dose of Jaeger Bomb(s)... On the other end of town, Smokey Joes is our recommendation for free shots and table dancing! The main late night haunt is the Avalanche which is open until 4am and has a pole perfect for the members of your group who are familiar with exotic dancing to strut their stuff…

This meal is unique as you have the joy of scaling up the mountain at 8pm to get to the restaurant – Kanata. There you are served Tartiflette, fries and salad along with a shed load of red wine in the biggest bottles you’ve ever seen! Just to ensure your thirst is quenched after your steep ascent they finish you off with a large shot of Genepi and send you packing, sledging down the mountain makes the initial climb well worth it!
